Grammy nominated R&B singer Teena Marie died at the age of 54 on December 26, 2010.

The news of her death was confirmed by Teena’s rep on CNN. She died in her sleep, and the cause of her death remains unclear.

Marie rose to prominence in the ’70s and ’80s. She released 13 studio albums over the course of her career, which spawned the 1984 hit “Lovergirl.”

In 2008, Teena was honored by the Rhythm & Blues foundation with the Pioneer Award, for her contribution to the “evolution and development of rhythm & blues music.”

Singer Jason Mraz is now engaged to his girlfriend Tristan Prettyman.

The “I’m Yours” singer was reportedly popped the question earlier this week. His girlfriend accepted his proposal.

“SHE SAID YEs,” tweeted Mraz sharing the news and his excitement. Tristan also posted on Twitter to express her happiness over her engagement. She said, “”For Once. I Am Speechless…..i did good! holy crap! man of my dreams!!! for the rest of my life!!!”

Award-winning singer Mariah Carey joins Snoopy to celebrate the recording of a “Charlie Brown Christmas” special in New York.

The event will be aired on November 30, 2010. It was held as part of the Rockefeller Center’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

In an interview with Radio Disney’s Ernie D, Mariah said that her new holiday album is for her unborn baby. She said, “I was recording this when I found out I was pregnant!”

For her holiday plans, she told, “I usually go to Aspen, but I’m not supposed to go there this year because I can’t ski and I can’t really do any of that stuff being pregnant. So, I’m just going to have to figure out where else we’re going to go.”

American singer and songwriter, Kesha, couldn’t be more excited about winning the Best New Act trophy at the 2010 MTV European Music Awards.

“This is the first thing I’ve ever won, except for when I was in high school and I won the award for ‘Most Likely to be a Serial Killer’ which I have not fulfilled yet- just wait for my breakdown.

“Winning is amazing, because I was under the assumption that everybody hated me for a long time. And then I stopped going on the Internet, and since then, about six months ago, apparently people started liking me, and then I got this award,” she told press.

Recording from Lady GaGa’s live show at Elton John’s recent White Tie and Tiara Ball has surfaced. It shows the “Poker Face” singer sitting behind a piano and playing a brand new song called “You and I”.

“It’s a bit of a rock and roll tune,” GaGa said before delivering her verses. “So that means it will most likely never get used as one of my singles, so I guess it’s OK to play it tonight.” She additionally wrote on Twitter concerning the track, “Written in NY on the piano I grew up on.”

She didn’t say anything about the new album, but many wondered if the song may make the cut to the upcoming release. “He said sit back down where you belong / in the corner of my bar / with your high heels on,” part of the lyrics read.

GaGa also sang on a wheelchair during the June 24 event. “What a brilliant evening with wonderful friends. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. What a magical stage,” she tweeted.

Emma Watson confirmed the rumor that she’s dating model George Craig.

The Harry Potter actress said that they became close while shooting a Burberry ad campaign. The rumored romance sparked after Watson was seen out in London with Craig and spending time with him at U.K. music festival Glastonbury earlier this week.

In an interview with Britain’s Radio 1, Watson confirmed that she is dating Craig. When asked if the two of them have been together for ages, she laughed and added:

“We’ve been friends since the Burberry shoot. And when I was in the States, George was taking me through a lot of his music as he was recording it. I couldn’t believe (how good the music was). I’m a big fan. Everything he did was amazing.”

Music tycoon Simon Cowell is facing lawsuit from a displeased contestant on his hit reality show  “Britain’s Got Talent”, in the midst of allegations she claimed she was discriminated against because of her health condition.

Emma Czikai, suffers from cervical spine neuritis, auditioning in front of Cowell and his panel of TV judges last year but was not able to make it through to the first round with her version of “You Raise Me Up”.

Show producers asked her to appear on the U.K. spin-off programme “Britain’s Got More Talent”, which will show previous clips of funny and unusual acts, Czikai agreed, but on the condition that they made will clarify that she suffered from an illness.

However, Czikai insists producers were unable to keep their promise when the show aired, making her appear like a “fool” and left her no choice but to file an official complaint with U.K. employment tribunal officials.

A pre-hearing review was scheduled in July.

On his Twitter, the R&B performer posted that he was denied entry into the continent.

“SORRY to all the fans in europe!!! My tour is cancelled,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site. Explaining about the cancellation, he stated, “I’m pretty sure ya’ll know. My entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!” His status as an offender reportedly becomes the reason of his visa rejection.

The teen pop sensation Justin Bieber  revealed that he once broke up with a girl, whom he dated for 7 months, in a  bad  way.

“I have dumped a girl over the phone – it’s terrible isn’t it?”, the “Baby” hitmaker admitted, as Showbiz Spy quoted.

“We got into an argument during a phone call so I basically said, ‘I don’t wanna be with you any more’, and she cried.”

Bieber added,  “I saw her after that and it was a bit awkward.” However, the 16-year-old YouTube sensation claimed that they remain friends, saying “But we’re not enemies now, so that’s cool.”

Later on, the singer confessed that doing that to  a girl wasn’t cool at all.

He said, “But I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s very mean!”

Aside from his confession about his “mean” way to end a relationship, Bieber also said that he wasn’t supposed to get romantically involved with anyone before he was 16.

“My mom said I wasn’t allowed to date until I was 16,” the “Eenie Meenie” singer claimed. “But I broke that rule. She found out and said, ‘I’m disappointed in you’.”

Meanwhile Justin Bieber recently launched his “Never Say Never” music video.  In the clip, Bieber shares screen with Jaden Smith who provided backing vocal.  The song will be featured in “Karate Kid.”

Runner-up Crystal Bowersox  wasn’t with her boyfriend Tony during “American Idol” final show.

Interviewed by Ryan Seacrest and Kara DioGuardi on his radio show, Crystal said, “He’s driving somewhere. Big Tony… he went home. He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle.” Bowesox further explained, “I didn’t break up with him… it was a mutual thing.”

“It’s cool though, we’re both logical, grown adults. He’s a small town guy and that’s fine, I’m a small town girl, but I want this,” Crystal added. “I want this more than anything, this career, this lifestyle. I didn’t think he was up for it… he didn’t think he was up for it.”
