Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Opened with $24 Million

The much-anticipated part 1 of the last book of Harry Potter clocks in with $24 million from midnight screenings, a record for the franchise.

Projection have the weekend tally at anywhere from $125-130 million. It was a huge jump from the $77 million opening for the last two Potter movies, “Order of the Phoenix” and “The Half-Blood Prince“. Currently, “The Goblet of Fire” holds the opening record for the franchise at $102.6 million.

The film was directed by David Yates and produced by J.K. Rowling along with David Heyman and David Barron. The first part was released on November 19 and part two, although has finished filming, is set to be released on July 15, 2011.

Actress Natalie Portman talks about her tendencies to take challenging job opportunities.

“Work-wise, I try to do things that scare me, because I know they’re going to challenge me,” the actress said during the premiere of her latest movie Black Swan.

She continues saying, “But I didn’t know what I was in for with Black Swan. I didn’t realize what it was going to be like. But the cliché is true, the more you put in, the more you get out. Everything that scared me about the role was also what drew me to it. It was an amazing opportunity to challenge myself emotionally and physically.”

Black Swan is a thriller that zeroes in on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer and a rival. It was scheduled to be released on December 3.

Leonardo DiCaprio keeps it low

Sporting baseball cap and sunglasses, actor Leonardo DiCaprio keeps it low as he leaves from Vancouver International Airport in Canada on Saturday September 18.

DiCapri0 visited town to check the production for the of his new film, Little Red Riding Hood, which he’ was reportedly producing.

On that same night, Leo wore his cap again to shield his face while leaving Premiere nightclub in West Hollywood, California

Leo was also seen at a trade show where he bought a 10-year-old exotic tortoise that can live up to 80 years, for $400.

Zac Efron Attends ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ Madrid Premiere

Hot teen star Zac Efron rocked it when he attended the premiere of his film ” Charlie St. Cloud”, at Capitol Cinema on Monday sporting a skinny tie in Madrid, Spain.

Efron, 22, appeared earlier in the day for his photocall appointment.

Information for the extras offered on the Charlie St. Cloud DVD and Blu-Ray have been unveiled. Zac will be taking DVD owners on a trip around Vancouver as he took a shot for his first dramatic role.

Zac was wearing the new Calibre de Cartier stainless steel watch with black face on a black alligator band, costs at over $6,000.

Hilary Duff to star in Dolphin Tale?

The newly married Hilary Duff was spotted carrying a Creative Arts Agency folder with printed emails as she goes into a studio on Wednesday August 25 in Studio City, Calif.

There are rumors that she may be taking part in the new film Dolphin Tale with Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd and Harry Connick, Jr.

The synopsis of the upcoming movie : “Dolphin is inspired by the true story of a dolphin named Winter who was rescued off the Florida coast and taken in by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The movie version centers on a boy who befriends an injured dolphin who lost her tail in a crab trap.

“Through their bond and friendship, the boy motivates everyone around him to help save the dolphin by creating a prosthetic appendage to replace the dolphin’s tail. The marine mammal’s strong survival instincts become an inspiration to people with special needs throughout the world.”

Ready for the role, Actor Shia LaBeouf arrived to the set with costar Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to shoot scenes for Transformers 3 at the Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 13.

The “Transformers” actor is set to fly to his next location as he is also slated to complete the filming of his movie in Chicago for the new movie.

A previous poll has crowned Shia as one of the hottest actors under 25 years of age.

The poll was showed in this June’s InStyle magazine has Shia following Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Zac Efron on the list.

Leighton Meester Filming ‘Monte Carlo’ on Monaco Beach

Photographed filming “Monte Carlo” in France for few days, Leighton Meester has went on with the production in another country. She has been snapped shooting the film in Monaco, Italy with a male co-star Luke Bracey On Friday, June 25 .

Meester, 24, was spotted wearing a purple one-piece topped with a peach-colored robe. Meanwhile the Aussie hunk,flaunts his abs as he is shirtless. In their photos, the two were standing face to face while filming their scenes. Selena Gomez and Katie Cassidy who joined Meester in Paris were not visible during the filming.

“Monte Carlo” follows a girl and her best friend who travel to Paris, accompanied by her future, uptight stepsister. When one of the girls is mistaken for a spoiled British heiress, they are caught up in a whirlwind of attention and find themselves going on a dream vacation to Monte Carlo.

The film was inspired on Jules Bass’ novel titled “Headhunters” and has Thomas Bezucha serving behind the lens. Nicole Kidman is the producer alongside Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan, with Fox 2000 Pictures set to distribute it on theaters across the U.S. on February 2, 2011.

Twilight’s lead actress Kristen Stewart, 20 is looking gorgeous on the black carpet in her white one-sleeve embroidered wool mini dress with a cut out at the back from Elie Saab.

Robert Pattinson stands out, as usual, in a bright marroon suit from Gucci on the black carpet. He brought his two sisters Lizzy and Victoria as his dates for the evening. An awesome brother he is.

Dakota Fanning, Bryce Dallas Howard and Julia Jones all looking fab on the black carpet at the premiere of their new movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Dakota slipped a beige lace one shoulder cocktail dress from Elie Saab with matching spiky Christian Loboutin shoes. Brycewas dressed in a gorgeous yellow Christian Dior gown.

Robert Pattinson look forward to getting physical with Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn.

The actor who plays Edward Cullen commented on the novel’s Bella/Edward heat of passion moment saying: “I am looking forward to the pillow-biting scene. I thought that was so funny. I’m just like, I have all the random things to do. Really? He bites the pillow.”

On the Twilight Saga’s third movie installment, it’s Taylor Lautner who has a nude scene. Pattinson explained that he teased Lautner about this.

“He was outside and it was freezing and it was raining as well. And he sat there like, trembling on the floor. I had my one line and I just kind of keep saying, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot what it was again, what was it?’, ” explains the actor.

She confessed she is “obsessed” with playing the TV heroine.

Several Hollywood stars Megan Fox, Eliza Dushku, Sandra Bullock and Beyonce Knowles were lured to take over the role Lynda Carter made famous in the 1970s for Joss Whedon’s big screen remake.

But Hewitt was said to be begging the movie studio bosses at Warner Bros. to give her the part. She says, “I’m fighting so hard. I think Warner Bros. is getting ready to make Wonder Woman and I really want to play Wonder Woman. I am obsessed with Wonder Woman.”
