Stephen Gately killed by fluid in his lungs

A medical examination carried out on the body of 33-year old Boyzone star Stephen Gately revealed that the singer died of fluid on his lungs. On the preliminary findings handed by the judge of Court number 10 in Palma de Mallorca to his husband Andrew Cowles , it was confirmed that Gately died of a medical condition known as Pulmonary Oedema. This can happen for a number of reasons, but is usually due to a build up of pressure in the circulation and is sometimes caused by a heart abnormality. The released findings finally ruled out any rumors about a possible suicide or foul-play that might have caused Gately’s death.

Gately was found dead last Saturday morning while on a holiday in Majorca. He was discovered by Cowles in his apartment in the resort of Port Andrax in pajamas kneeling against the sofa with his face buried in the pillow. His sudden death shocked the whole world and left his other Boyzone bandmembers and manager Louis Walsh devastated.
