Sean Penn Sentenced to Anger Management
Sean Penn was ordered to three years probation and 36 hours of anger management sessions as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
The 49-year-old actor was charged with misdemeanor vandalism steamming from a scuffle with paparazzi last year. He pleaded no contest through his attorney in a court in Los Angeles.
“Prolonging this matter in the court system would not have been in Mr. Penn’s best interest and would’ve distracted from his charitable commitments, specifically his work with the J/P Haitian Relief Organization,” Richard Hirsch, his lawyer, told People Magazine.
A video was taken showing the upset actor walking toward photographer telling him to ‘Get out’ then repeatedly attempting to kick the man. Prosecutors alleged that the photographer’s camera was damaged and that he was physically battered.
