Paula Abdul might not return to American Idol

Paula Abdul have been judging wannabe stars in American Idol for the past eight seasons. But the judge may not return for a 9th season, her manager said in an interview with Los Angeles Times on Friday.
David Sonenberg, who became Abdul’s manager just a few weeks ago, claimed that he hasn’t received any proposals from the network for Paula’s new contract.
“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful,” Sonenberg told the newspaper. “I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”
“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back idol,” Sonenberg added, “She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry.”
As for the other American Idol judges, Randy Jackson will be on the show until 2011, while Simon Cowell is said to be in negotiations to renew his contract.
The new season is set to premiere in January.
