Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Inc. is being sued by a former flight attendant

Oprah Winfrey’s production company Harpo is facing a lawsuit from a flight attendant, Corrine Gehrls. Gehrls filed a federal lawsuit against Winfrey’s Harpo company due to wrongful termination lawsuit. Together with Harpo, Inc., the two fellow flight crew namely: Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus have been sued. Bumpus is the daughter of Gayle King, bestfriend of Winfrey. Gehrls claimed that these two people “falsely told Winfrey and Harpo” which caused her to be terminated in July 7.
Gehrls, 39, worked as a flight attendant on Winfrey’s private jet, was accused of alleged onboard act. Gehrls was subsequently fired along with Chief Pilot Terry Pansing, 57. Gehrls and married Pansing were accused of engaging in “inappropriate intimate behaviour” while Winfrey was sleeping elsewhere in the cabin during a flight in June.
The legal papers state,
“Gooch and Bumpus falsely told Winfrey and Harpo that on the June 14, 2009 Harpo flight… Pansing and Gehrls had been observed having inappropriate intimate conduct outside the cockpit of the plane.”
Gehrls denies the accusations on having sex on Oprah’s jet, going so far as to take—and pass—a polygraph test on the advice of her lawyer. Pansing did the same, as reported. The suit says, Gehrls and Pansing passed polygraph tests after the accusation but were not rehired.
According to TMZ.com, Gehrls is seeking for damages from Gooch, Bumpus and Harpo Inc. for more than $75,000.
However, spokesperson from the side Harpo declined to comment.
