Mark Ruffalo on Terror Watchlist

Posted by josefranco

Mark-RuffaloWhat do actor Mark Ruffalo and some militants have in common? They’re all on the United States’ dreaded terror advisory list. A report said that Ruffalo, 43, was made a marked man by the Pennsylvania Office of Homeland Security after the actor he supported writer-director Josh Fox’s documentary “Gasland,” which shows the adverse effect of natural gas drillings on communities.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Ruffalo helped organize screenings for the film earlier this year. The “Shutter Island” actor also voiced out his opposition to natural gas drilling, the report said. Unbeknownst to Ruffalo, who is set to play The Hulk in “The Avengers,” his actions were enough to land him on the list usually reserved for suspected terrorists.

In a recent interview, Ruffalo took his inclusion in the notorious list in stride and remained unfazed, telling GQ magazine that he even found the situation “pretty f–kin funny.”

Fox made “Gasland” after knowing the plight of people who were living in communities where natural gas drillings were taking place. Some of those people were reportedly suffering various illnesses mainly due to contaminated water. “Gasland” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and later had its HBO premiere on June 21. It has won several awards, including the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.
