Lady Gaga is Last.fm’s Best for 2009

After conquering the airwaves with her successive chart-topping hits, including Poker Face, Just Dance and Bad Romance, Lady GaGa has also conquered the social Web, taking the top spot in popular music site Last.fm.
Last.fm’s annual compilation, which lists the hottest artists of the year based on the number of scrobbles (or plays) made by users, crowned Lady GaGa as the site’s most popular artist of 2009. She garnered a total of 755,309 listeners and 18,487,195 scrobbles.
Indie rock band The Killers is at No. 2, followed by Lily Allen, The Prodigy, Franz Ferdinand, Beyoncé, Animal Collective, Green Day, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kanye West rounding up the top 10.
