Blake Lively Cast in Superhero Movie

Blake Lively landed the female lead in the upcoming superhero movie Green Lantern. Blake will be playing the role of Carol Ferris and will star opposite Ryan Reynolds who is playing the title lead as Hal Jordan. In the comic book, Ferris is a pilot who eventually turns into super villainess, Star Sapphire. At the moment though, there is no announcement as to whether this will be happening in the first movie. The film which will be produced by Warner Bros will begin shooting in New Orleans this March, and is targeted to be shown on June of 2011.

Blake Lively plays Serena van der Woodsen on the hit TV series Gossip Girl, She also starred in the two Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie and the comedy Accepted. She will also appear in the upcoming movie The Town, which is directed by Ben Affleck.
