American Idol: Scott MacIntyre out! Frankie Avalon sings

Scott MacIntyre is out!

After a nationwide vote, Scott MacIntyre became the sixth finalist eliminated on “American Idol season 8.”

The 23-year-old blind piano player from Scottsdale, Arizona received the fewest number of viewer votes Wednesday on the popular singing competition. He came up 30,000 votes shy, losing the battle of the bottom two to Anoop Desai.

Frankie Avalon sings Venus

Ryan Seacrest made fun of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul–showing fake baby pictures of the two judges. After that, the “American Idol” host showed a film clip of Frankie Avalon singing “Venus,” a song from 1959, the year Simon was born. And—surprise! The video screen went up and Frankie came out to sing it himself.
